Read MoreProbably my favorite photo. Taken deep from within the dune field on a very special solo backpacking trip at the Great Sand Dunes National Park. My tent was right behind me, and I could not believe the sunset I got lucky with, The snow still on Cleveland Peak to the right really adds a nice touch of magic. it truly was this amazing, really didn't need any post production, however it was shot using HDR using 9 exposures in bracketing.
5-4-17 Warm skies, cold desert
Taken deep from within the dune field on a very special solo backpacking trip in the Great Sand Dunes National Park. This is the aftermath of the photo with the sunburst. I just had to put this one in too, the warm skies over the cold desert was just too perfect. Thus was shot using HDR using 9 exposures in bracketing.
10-24-15 Entrance to the Dunes
Taken from the little path into the dune field. Special time of Autumn where it was still Summer time warm in the day, but the leaves were all halfway through changing colors.
3-14-18 Mount Evans in stepped shade.
This is a single photo/exposure looking up toward Mount Evans from Arvada with Golden's North Table Mountain in the foreground. Shot at 300mm on a 35mm sensor with minimal color correction, nature pulls these shadows a lot from my porch and it's amazing
10-1-16 Meadow Creek Misty Waters
A long exposure of Meadow Creek creating the mist effect. the Depth of Field in this busy portion of the woods makes for a very, well, deep photo when you take it in
3-1-17 Backcountry mine in the snow
This was taken deep in the backcountry east of Keystone. The two left most peaks you see are Torreys and Grays respectively, looking northeast.
